steamsounds
- volume 5
This CD completes the collection of on-train recordings begun in volume
4.
With a playing time of over 77 minutes the 14 tracks include what I
consider to be the best on-train recording that I have made, 46229 on
Shap and a recording of a very high speed run with 34092.

steamsounds
- volume 4
All the tracks on this CD are on-train recordings and are among the
best I have made over 30 years travelling behind steam locomotives on
the main line.
The locomotives in the 9 tracks on this CD are all heard working hard
and include my favourite recordings made on the Scarborough Spa Express.
Let's just say, here is 78 minutes of thrash!

hear recordings of 15 different locomotives made in locations as diverse
as Oldham and Shap!

steamsounds
- volume 1
By popular demand!
After the feedback I received about the Ffestiniog Interactive CD it
seemed like a good idea to make another one available.
This CD features tracks which have appeared on the steamsounds
web site and requested by visitors.
It has a playing time of over 72 minutes and contains 15 tracks, both
recorded on train and from the line side. It includes the most requested
recordings of 8F 48151 with a freight train heard from the line side
at Blea Moor in December 2000, the on train recordings of Castle 5051
at Penpergwm on the Welsh Marches route in 1983 and Black 5 5305 on
the climb out of Sheffield in 1985.

A Ride on the Ffestiniog Railway
A recording of the complete journey from Porthmadog
to Blaenau Ffestiniog as heard from the front coach of a train hauled
by Double Fairlie 'David Lloyd George'.
This CD has a playing time of over 64 minutes and apart from a little
reduction in some of the standing time at stations, is unedited.

Ffestiniog Journey
This CD takes the form of a journey up the
line from Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog and includes recordings of
Double Fairlies 'Earl of Merioneth', 'David Lloyd George' & 'Merddin
Emrys', Hunslets 'Linda' & 'Blanche' and the 1864 England 0-4-0STT
'Prince', reputed to be the oldest working steam locomotive in the world.
Even the diesel 'Vale of Ffestiniog' puts in an appearance - but only
very briefly!
All but 2 of the 24 tracks are recorded from the lineside.

steamsounds
archive CD editions
1 to 10
Not another Audio CD, this one is a CD ROM
archive of the first 10 editions of the steamsounds
web site.
All the web pages are included as they originally appeared on the site
along with over 150 mp3 recordings with a playing time of over 10 hours.
But why should you buy this CD when you can get it all for free at the
steamsounds
archive web site?
Well, the difference is that the mp3 recordings on this CD are encoded
at CD quality rather than the much lower quality recordings that have
appeared on the site and in most cases they are much longer than the
short clips that I can include on the site. In one case you will find
a 21 minute recording of a run with 60009 climbing to Blea Moor rather
than the 2½ minute clip that appeared on the site!
At just £10 for the equivalent of over 8 audio CDs this has to
be a bargain!
