The Playlist
This is the list of recordings in the playlist.
Before talking about what we can do with the list we first need to find out how to get recordings into the list in the first place.
We have already seen that it is possible to right click on a recording in the Track List and add it to the playlist from there. In addition, it is also possible to add recordings from search results, either individually or all search results at once. See the Search Page for information about this.
Having got recording into the playlist the simplest thing we can do is play one of them. Just double click on a recording. The recording will also be selected in the Track List so if you go back there you will be able to read notes about the recording while it plays. Alternatively, with a track selected in the play list you can right click. This will give you the option to read the notes about it without leaving the playlist. You'll see that you can also delete the selected track from the playlist.
You can also play all the recordings in the playlist. Click on the Play Playlist button and recordings will be played from the currently selected one until the last one in the list is reached. If you want to play all the recordings in the playlist make sure that you select the first one, just click on it.
Once the playlist has started playing you can return to the Track List and read notes about each recording as it is playing. The Mode buttons are ineffective when playing the playlist.
If you want to restart the playlist, press the Stop button, select the first track (or the track you wish to start from) and click the Play Playlist button.

Playlist Control buttons
These 5 buttons allow you to use and manage the playlist.
Play Playlist - Play all recordings in the list beginning with the one selected until the last one has been played. Pressing the Stop button in the player controls will stop this.
Clear List - Removes all recordings from the list.
Export - Allows the all the recordings in the playlist to be copied to a folder on your PC. This could be on your hard disk although you could copy recordings straight to a portable player. Copying to the hard disk first is preferable as this feature allows you to create a text file with details of each recording.
When you click the Export button a dialogue box looking like this will appear:

Here you can choose a drive and folder for the exported files to go to.
Once you have chosen a drive and folder you next need to give a name to the export.
When you click OK this name will be used to create as sub-folder in the folder you selected above and the exported files will be copied there. You cannot use the same name as an existing export.
Providing that the Include Notes box is ticked a text file will be created containing the filename, caption and notes of each exported file.
Remember that if you export the files direct to a portable device or mp3 player you may not be able to read this text file and may find it difficult to know just what you are listening to! It is probably best to use a sub-folder on your hard disk and then copy the recordings from there to your mp3 player.

When the export is complete look in the appropriate folder where you will find the files. The folder and it's content will look something like this.

The new filenames indicate which Album the recording came from. cd5_108.mp3 is from album cd5 and is file 108.mp3 in that album!
This information is included in the text file details.txt which you can view with Notepad.

Load & Save - These two buttons allow you to Save a playlist and later, reload it. Just choose a suitable location to save it in and give it an appropriate name. Saved playlist files have the extension .pll.
