Most of the above points are easy to spot with
the exception of:
Crimple Jc. which
is passed immediately after crossing the viaduct soon after leaving
Harrogate. This was where the line to Wetherby continued ahead and the
Leeds line takes a sharp right hand curve.
Those who are old enough to remember the location of the original Wortley
Jc. signal box should note that this is now taken as the point
where the Harrogate & Airedale lines diverge. The line passes under
a road bridge at the junction.
Chaloners Whin near
York was where the original East Coast Main Line diverged. Look for
a Tesco supermarket on the south east side of the line.
