Recorded on the main line and on 25 preserved railways both standard & narrow gauge.

Over 25% of the recordings have been made from the lineside.

Recordings from the 1980's (on the lower numbered CDs & DVDs) tend to be mainly on-train recordings made riding behind steam on the main line. Into the 90's and up to the present day has seen a trend towards more recordings on preserved lines and from the lineside.

DVD 1 contains CDs 1 to 6, DVD 2 contains CDs 7 to 12 and DVD 3 contains CDs 13 to 18. Each CD contains recordings with a playing time of around 12 hours.
